Work on this mixed-use, 43-storey tower in the heart of the City of London comprises a 237-Room, 5* Luxury Hotel Guest Rooms and Corridors.

B&B ITALIA - Hotel Guest Room and Corridors Fit Out

150 Bishopsgate Plaza

ONE Bishopsgate Plaza will be the first high-rise residential and hospitality development built in the City of London in many years. Currently, under construction, the mixed-use development includes private residences and Europe’s first Pan Pacific Hotel along with select retail spaces in a flagship 43-storey tower. The project has several goals, including the regeneration of part of the local Conservation Area and the creation of a significant new public plaza along busy Bishopsgate.

The luxurious Pan Pacific London will provide a facility unmatched in scale and quality by any existing hotels in the area. The provision of top-quality meeting and events space, including a double-height ballroom, together with the other public functions of the hotel will support the City’s role as a centre for international business. The Pacific Ballroom will also be the Square Mile’s first dedicated ballroom, hosting banquets for up to 370 guests.

Scope

Level 6 to 19 - Raised acoustic flooring to Guest Rooms and Corridors, Guest Rooms include carpets, wall cladding, bathroom doors, mini-bars, TV and brackets, decorating and installation of Thresholds and Guest Room Doors (Fire Doors).  The Corridor scope of works includes decorating, carpets and Corridor Fire Doors.  

It became clear at the very beginning that the key to the project success was to understand the complexities before the final tendering stage.  Simpleducks, working with B&B Italia Engineers in Milan Italy, developed an initial strategy to align the fit-out with LendLease Logistics strategies, such as considering a plan to include 'how & when' rooms would be fitted out after the removal of external goods hoists and other issues.  

We also included costings such as training for all staff to include CSCS, SMSTS, 1st Aid at Work, and to ensure costs for items such PPE, safety equipment such as access equipment and delivering the method statements for this project.
