Other than a bit of rain it was a great tournament and a really good effort from all 8 boys today. It was fantastic to see the boys passing more and enjoying playing together as a team, understanding their positions more, growing in confidence both individually and as a team and none of them are afraid to “have a go”.

Im glad I didn’t have to do it today but, it was very hard to pick a player of the tournament and a runner up/sportsmanship/committed team player award. However, the accolades this week went to Oscar and Reece ….. With Marco and Jake performing strongly too.

All 8 players deserve a mention really …… A solid midfield cameo and goal from Magnus followed by some committed goal keeping…… Alfie really growing in confidence and becoming more solid on the left as well as making a couple of close range saves when in goal…… Alex the ever present battler popping up in most positions …(including the one he’s meant to be playing) ….. Joshua making some good covering runs, cut out tackles and finding himself in front of goal and scoring again ……. Reece covered more of the pitch than the rain did and, like Alfie too, Reece was only a few inches away from scoring. Finally, Marco, Oscar and Jake were looking like the new Beckham, Scholes and Giggs terrorising defences and scoring 14 goals between them! Well done all 8 boys tho and thank goodness for Jakes IPad as the in between game entertainment!

Results from the 6 x 10 minute matches were …… I think I got these right but apologies if I didn’t!

Game 1. Vs Acton and Ealing Whistlers …. Won 5-0. Scorers = Oscar 3, Alex 1, Magnus 1.
Game 2. Vs G4G …Lost 3-1. Joshua 1.
Game 3. Vs Carshalton … Won 4-0. Oscar 4.
Game 4. Vs AGV YFC … Won 3 – 0. Jake 2, Oscar 1.
Game 5. Vs Acton and Ealing Whistlers …. Won 4 – 0. Marco 3, Alex 1.
Game 6. Vs G4G …. Lost 2 – 1. Jake 1.

A wee snap attached for those away this week.
