This one-day Safety, Health and Environment for Construction Workers course run by Simpleducks in West London is now on Build UK Training Standards.  This course is also accepted by CSCS as an alternative course when applying for the CSCS Labourers card and ECS / JIB for the ECS labourers or Site Support Card.

The course provides essential knowledge for anyone who is involved in construction activities.   It’s very much focused on helping delegates to understand what they need to know, and how they can benefit from working in a healthier and safer way.

COURSE CONTENT

Unit one: Setting the scene: The importance of safety and health on a construction site 

  • Understanding why health and safety is a positive 
  • Unit two – Local law and enforcement: 
  • The basics of local safety, health and the environment law
  • The key principals of legal requirements or local laws for construction work 
  • Unit three – General site safety: 
  • Mitigating risk on construction sites 
  • Types of PPE are used on a construction site 
  • Safety signs are used on a construction site 
  • Welfare arrangements on a construction site 
  • Types of work and plant equipment 
  • Emergency and first aid procedures 
  • Fire procedures 
  • Accidents and near misses 

Upon successful completion of the exam paper, delegates will receive an IOSH certificate.

This course is suitable for people working or planning to gain employment in, a variety of industries and sectors including the Electrical and Construction Industries.

All training is conducted at either:

  • The Grange - Ealing Broadway or
  • Our Isleworth training centre

Center opening hours are 8 am to 5.30 pm, the course commences at 9 am and finishes at approx 5pm, unless otherwise stated in the joining instructions.

Refreshments are included on all courses, but NO LUNCH is currently provided on any of our courses. Please ensure you have read the joining instructions before arriving at our training centre. 

If you are travelling by road, we have free parking at both venues.
