WHO SHOULD ATTEND

The qualification is primarily aimed at practising electricians with relevant experience and other allied professionals e.g. surveyors, consultants, plumbers, builders and other trades needing to update and enhance their understanding of IEE Wiring Regulations. It is also suitable for anyone wishing to demonstrate an understanding of the IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition BS 7671:2018.

It allows candidates to progress into employment or to other City & Guilds qualifications in Inspection, Testing, Design and Certification of Electrical Installations (2392).

What can I bring to my exam?

The exam is open book and you are allowed to bring either or both of the following books with you to the exam:

  • Electrical Installers’ guide to the Building Regulations for Dwellings and Associated Areas in England and Wales jointly published between NICEIC and ECA
  • Electrician’s Guide to the Building Regulations (Part P, 4th Edition). Published by the IET. 

You are permitted to have a non-scientific calculator. If you don’t have one, we will provide one for the duration of the exam
